Defoamer for industrial circulating water

Industrial circulating water defoamer is a defoamer developed according to the characteristics of industrial circulating water foaming in the cooling water system. Industrial circulating water is also called cooling circulating water, and is mainly composed of a circulating pump, a control system, a check valve, and the like. However, when water treatment is carried out using industrial cycle machine technology, foam is easily generated due to agitation, entry of soluble gas, equipment, water quality, additives, and the like. If these foams are discharged without treatment, the impact on the ecological environment will be very large. Therefore, it is necessary to use industrial circulating water defoamer at this time.

Industrial circulating water process

The industrial circulating water defoaming agent is a defoaming agent which is prepared by compounding a modified silicon polyether with a modified siloxane and using a special process. It can solve the foam problem that occurs when industrial circulating water technology is used. It has alkali and acid resistance, fast defoaming speed, long foam suppression time and high efficiency. Low COD and low consumption.

Hazards of foam in industrial circulating water:

  1. The bubble will cause the EPA to fail to meet the standards, fail to discharge, and slow down the progress of the work.
  2. Too much foam overflows from the surface, causing serious pollution of the external environment.
3, the bubble will affect the appearance, the appearance is difficult to see
  1. When there is aeration or oxygen supply during biological water treatment, there is too much foam, which affects the progress or overflow of water treatment, affecting the active mud and bacteria.
  2. Excessive circulation of water foam affects secondary utilization, affecting production progress, and more seriously affecting the production of products.

Reasons for foaming in industrial circulating water:

  1. The wastewater treated by the water treatment equipment contains a certain amount of foam. If the temperature of the influent water is high, the foam particles will be large, and more will be produced.
  2. Other impurities, gases, etc. in the water are mixed with the organic matter mixed with water to generate a large number of bubbles under the mechanical stirring of the water stream.
3, due to the high content of organic matter in the water, resulting in foaming
4, due to the addition of other additives to produce a chemical reaction, resulting in foaming
5, due to too much suspended matter, causing foaming
6, because there is no good management of water quality, resulting in foaming

Why Foam could be so inconvenient ? A light foam is generally not problematic in most applications however heavy foaming can often lead to various processing problems. These problems range from inaccurate readings from control and measuring equipment such as temperature, level and density controllers to poor mixing of reactants in chemical reaction vessels and products hanging in the foam, all too often leading to losses in production. Finally the presence of foaming can give a bad image of the way a process is operated in the eyes of a customer. The presence of foam in discharged effluent can cause complaints from local people and authorities even if the foam is harmless to people and the environment. How do silicone defoamers work ? Foam is a gas dispersion in a liquid or solid continuous phase. Foam iscreated by the surfactants which are at the air/liquid interface. Therefore air bubbles occur and are stabilised by the surfactants. Today, silicone antifoams are thebest solution to a...

How do we assess antifoam efficiency ?

How do we assess antifoam efficiency ? Quality of an antifoam is given by two main characteristics : • Knockdown ability or shock effect :Meaning the speed to destroy an existing foam. • Persistence or durability : Meaning the efficiency over time.   These two parameters can be assessed by several tests. The main test is the bubbling method. A graduated column with a glass frit in the bottom is required. Foaming water is poured in the column and air at constant flowrate is introduced through the glass frit in the column. Foam is generated by the air and starts to travel up the column. At a determined level of foam, antifoam is injected. By this method several antifoaming agents can be tested. A graph reporting foam height vs time is very helpful to establish the knockdown ability and the persistence for each product. The selected antifoam is the product with the best compromise between shock effect and durability       Environmental performance   Silicone antifo...
