Why does the power plant desulfurization foam?

Why does the power plant desulfurization foam?

With the rapid development of industry and the importance of the country and people to environmental protection, power plant desulfurization process has become an important part of power plant production.
The flue gas desulfurization process of normal power plants can be divided into three categories: wet method, dry method and semi-dry method according to the state of desulfurizer and desulfurization reaction product. At present, the flue gas desulfurization technology is dominated by the wet desulfurization process, and the dry and semi-dry desulfurization processes are also under development.
Since the desulfurization agent is used for flue gas desulfurization in thermal power plants, and the desulfurizing agent is alcohol, the practical and common silicone defoaming agent is used to obtain the foaming effect of the absorption tower slurry of the desulfurization device through practical experiments and laboratory test foam data. The bubble effect is not obvious. We specialize in desulfurization defoamers specially designed for the control of foam in amine treatment and diol dehydration units;

It has the following characteristics:

Ø  Quick defoaming: This product is especially effective when the foam forms quickly in the absorption tower or requires rapid defoaming.
Ø  Excellent stability and durability: After a while, the salt concentration in the amine treatment and diol dehydration unit will reach the highest level. TSA-7133 desulfurization defoamer is very stable under these conditions. In addition, in order to maintain good line control, a lower amount of defoamer should be used, while also reducing costs and the possibility of fouling and clogging. In addition, since the product is easily dispersed in water and compatible with the diol, the moisture in the antifoam emulsion is not easily removed by the presence of the diol, so that the effectiveness of the antifoaming agent can be achieved. Keep it for a longer time.
Ø  Excellent high temperature stability - Due to the excellent dispersibility of INVELY-5300 desulfurization defoamer, such products do not deposit on heat exchangers like many other defoamers. They tend to be well dispersed in the amine or diol solution and finally separated by filtration.
Ø  Easy to dilute and use the simple addition of water and a slight agitation to dilute the INVELY-5300 desulfurization antifoam antifoam emulsion to the desired concentration. Pumping these diluted emulsions is very easy due to the reduced viscosity after dilution.
Ø  Reduce heat exchanger blockage and dirt thermal resistance - potentially reducing equipment maintenance.
Ø  Low concentration can effectively meet foam control INVELY-5300 desulfurization defoamer is 2-3 times more effective than other defoamers used in gas processing units.

Defoaming process foaming reasons

During the operation of the desulfurization device, the absorption tower slurry may be foamed due to some factors, resulting in overflow of the absorption tower. These factors may be:
(1) Imported flue gas dust exceeds the standard, if it contains a large amount of inert substances
(2) The coal quality is not good, the boiler is not fully burned or the boiler is oiled to make the imported flue gas contain oil.
(3) The limestone contains an excess of MgO, and the excess of MgO not only affects the desulfurization efficiency but also reacts with the sulfate ion.
(4) The increase of heavy metal ions in the absorption tower slurry causes an increase in the surface tension of the slurry.
(5) In addition, it is also necessary to pay attention to the parameters of the desulfurization system process water quality should be within the scope of the design, otherwise it will lead to absorption tower slurry bubbles.

How do we assess antifoam efficiency ?

How do we assess antifoam efficiency ? Quality of an antifoam is given by two main characteristics : • Knockdown ability or shock effect :Meaning the speed to destroy an existing foam. • Persistence or durability : Meaning the efficiency over time.   These two parameters can be assessed by several tests. The main test is the bubbling method. A graduated column with a glass frit in the bottom is required. Foaming water is poured in the column and air at constant flowrate is introduced through the glass frit in the column. Foam is generated by the air and starts to travel up the column. At a determined level of foam, antifoam is injected. By this method several antifoaming agents can be tested. A graph reporting foam height vs time is very helpful to establish the knockdown ability and the persistence for each product. The selected antifoam is the product with the best compromise between shock effect and durability       Environmental performance   Silicone antifo...

Defoamer Test Method

Defoamer testing methods are divided into dynamic defoaming and static defoaming tests. If your foaming environment is different, the recommended test methods are different. There are three main types of foam experiments to characterize the activity of defoamers. Persistence. As we have different experimental conditions in different laboratories and the experiments used in our research to obtain results from existing literature, we will introduce these experiments below. Other methods are sometimes used depending on the particular application. 1. Ross-Miles Foam Tester   Features: Tested for strong foaming environments. This experiment is widely used for characterization        (1) Foaming of surfactant solution        (2) Research and application of foam stability in the presence of defoamer In the foaming system, the defoaming performance test was carried out by circulating bubbling by a Ros...

Silicone oil is so widely used! Let’s learn silicone oil production technology

Silicone is so widely used! Let's learn silicone oil production technology Silicone oil is a kind of linear small molecule silicone polymer with Si-O-Si as the main chain and organic groups in the side chain. It is widely used in textile, daily chemical, mechanical processing, chemical, electrical and electronic, medical and health, etc. industry. Silicon oil is usually kept in a liquid state at room temperature. As the molecular weight increases, the viscosity also increases, so viscosity is an important physical property index of silicone oil. 2017 China's silicone oil consumption situation Classification of silicone oil Silicone oil is generally divided into two categories: general silicone oil and modified silicone oil. There is also a class of co-modified silicone oils and derivatives - ternary modified silicone oil Silicone oil properties Silicone oil is generally a colorless, odorless, non-toxic, non-volatile liquid with the following characteristics...
