Landfill leachate has complex water quality and contains a variety of toxic and harmful inorganic and organic substances. The concentration is much higher than that of municipal sewage. Leachate needs to be strictly treated. Generally, anaerobic biological filter (IAF) and aerated organisms are used. Combined filter (IBAF) is used as a biological treatment process. Specific types of waste infiltration treatment devices include traditional activated sludge method, stable pond, biological turntable, anaerobic fixed membrane bioreactor, etc. Generally, it will be filtered through several membranes to remove suspended matter and harmful molecules.   • Test Method:

Compare the Invely-1802 with customer’s sample by air drum in landfill leachate;
  • Test temperature: 40 ℃
  • Antifoam agent dosage: 1 ml
  • Type and amount of test medium: landfill leachate, 100ml
  • Wash the air drum test instrument and add 100ml of garbage leachate. At the set flow rate (double drum head, the flow is opened to the maximum) and temperature, add the defoamer and then turn on the air drum. Record the foam height at different time . The foam suppressing performance of the samples was compared by recording the regularity of the foam volume V over time.

Conclusion

Under the same conditions, the defoaming speed of INVELY-1802 is faster than that of customer’s sample.

The landfill leachate defoamer is composed of polyether, white carbon black, dispersant and stabilizer; it can maintain a good defoaming effect at a lower concentration. How do we assess antifoam efficiency ? Quality of an antifoam is given by two main characteristics : • Knockdown ability or shock effect :Meaning the speed to destroy an existing foam. • Persistence or durability : Meaning the efficiency over time.   These two parameters can be assessed by several tests. The main test is the bubbling method. A graduated column with a glass frit in the bottom is required. Foaming water is poured in the column and air at constant flowrate is introduced through the glass frit in the column. Foam is generated by the air and starts to travel up the column. At a determined level of foam, antifoam is injected. By this method several antifoaming agents can be tested. A graph reporting foam height vs time is very helpful to establish the knockdown ability and the persistence for each product.
